The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has confirmed the implementation of a pilot test for the return of away fans in lower-league football. This measure seeks to advance towards the normalization of the presence of both sets of fans in the stadiums. The initiative will be carried out in specific matches of the National Primera, where the two fanbases will once again coexist in the stands, something that has not happened regularly for over a decade. According to the Argentine News Agency, the matches chosen for this experience will be Quilmes vs. Nueva Chicago and Colegiales vs. Temperley, as part of the tenth round of the championship. The measure will be implemented with a strong security operation and in coordination with the authorities of the province of Buenos Aires, with the aim of evaluating its functioning and analyzing a possible extension to other matches. From the AFA, they highlighted that the success of the test will depend on the behavior of the fans and stressed the importance of experiencing the matches 'as a party of sport,' in a message directed at the four fanbases involved. The return of away fans represents a significant step within Argentine football, which for years has sought to recover one of its traditional characteristics, albeit under new security and organizational conditions.
